Round Towers V North London Shamrocks (Senior) (Saturday 6th June 2009)
Round Towers hosted North London Shamrocks senior team at Polter Park Mitcham on Saturday 6th June. Towers knew that this would be a tough game as North London Shamrocks only lost by two points in their previous league game. Both teams missed a number of scoring chances until Shane Sullivan opening the scoring for Round Towers with a point from a 21 yard free followed by a second point five minutes later. Both teams finished the first half level on five points each.
Early in the second half Garry Mcgovern and Mick Martin increased the Towers lead by two points. This lead was further extended with a goal from Ollie Bennett Junior mid way through the second half .North London reduced the Towers lead to three points with fifteen minutes to go.In the final fifteen minutes of the game Micky English and Mick Martin got on the score sheet which saw the Towers eventual winners by 1:11 to 0:11.
